Conduct municipal elections, which are pending for last 3 years

Chennai has been facing crisis in a lot of ways due to the lack of a civic administration body.

The opposition was the first to point this out. The election commission and the high courts have been asking for answers but the party in power seems to get away with something every time. The delay in elections is because of the recent change in the Tamilnadu Panchayat Act. There is a major issue of scarcity of water and garbage disposal throughout the state. Due to the lack of an administrating body, necessary funds are not reaching the services due to which nothing is happening anymore. Garbage is piling up on roads with little to no cleaning on weekdays, roadsides are almost always overflowing sewages which act as a breeding ground and smell really bad. This is happening in smaller areas and larger ones like Chromepet, Pallavaram and Tambaram. Chennai’s spot of tourists, Velachery is the only area that is clean enough to not disgust anyone and that is because the area residents and owners hire private services to clean the roads, etc.

I decided to scout a bridge and see how well it is maintained and everything around the bridge was garbage, including the stairs. This shows how badly this city needs an administrative body.
